StartWork is a Chrome extension that auto-fills job applications across multiple job platforms, saving you time during your job search.

To provide our auto-fill service, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:

- Phone number -- for job application forms
- Work history -- job titles, companies, dates, and descriptions for auto-filling experience sections
- Education -- schools, degrees, and dates for auto-filling education sections
- Skills -- your professional skills for job matching and form filling
- Resume data -- parsed resume content used to populate application fields
How Your Data Is Stored
Your personal data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This means your data stays on your machine and is not transmitted to external servers except when explicitly submitting job applications or syncing with your StartWork account.
When you create a StartWork account, your profile and resume data are also stored securely on our servers (Cloudflare Workers with D1 database) to enable cross-device syncing and our auto-apply features.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Auto-fill job application forms on supported platforms
- Match you with relevant job opportunities
- Generate tailored cover letters (when you opt in)
- Track your application history
- Provide account authentication
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. Your data is used exclusively to power the StartWork service.
The only time your data leaves our system is when you submit a job application to an employer through the extension -- in that case, the data is sent directly to the employer's application form, just as if you had typed it yourself.
Tracking & Analytics
We do not use any third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising services. We do not track your browsing activity. The extension only activates on job application pages that you visit.
Data Security
- All data transmission uses HTTPS only
- Authentication uses secure JWT tokens
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
- Local data is sandboxed within Chrome's extension storage
Your Rights
You can at any time:
- View all data we have stored about you via your StartWork dashboard
- Export your data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
